Nathan Littauer Hospital & Nursing Home

Position Summary

The Recruiter is responsible for full-cycle recruitment of clinical, licensed, and professional staff for Nathan Littauer Hospital & Nursing Home (NLH), with a primary focus on Acute Care hospital staff, Rehabilitation staff (PT/OT/Speech), Diagnostic Imaging (DI) staff, and Nursing Home Rehabilitation and Professional staff. This role also recruits Professional Hospital and Primary Care staff at the Manager level and above. Registered Nurse (RN) and Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) positions are recruited separately and are outside the scope of this role. The Recruiter sources, screens, and hires qualified candidates while building and maintaining strong relationships with external recruiting agencies and third-party staffing partners.

Key Responsibilities

Acute Care, Rehab, DI & Nursing Home Recruitment

  • Manage full-cycle recruitment for Acute Care hospital staff, Rehabilitation staff (Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology), and Diagnostic Imaging (DI) staff (excluding RN and LPN positions, which are recruited separately).

  • Manage full-cycle recruitment for Nursing Home Professional staff.

  • Recruit Professional Hospital staff and Primary Care staff at the Manager level and above.

  • Source candidates through job boards, professional associations, allied health training programs, career fairs, social media, and other creative sourcing channels.

  • Screen resumes, conduct phone/video interviews, and coordinate in-person interviews with hiring managers.

  • Extend offers, negotiate terms within approved guidelines, and manage the offer-to-hire process.

  • Ensure a positive candidate experience throughout the recruitment process.

Third-Party & Agency Relationship Management

  • Negotiate and manage agency agreements, fee schedules, and service-level expectations.

  • Evaluate agency performance and candidate quality on an ongoing basis; recommend changes to agency partnerships as needed.

  • Coordinate with agencies to fill urgent or hard-to-fill clinical vacancies.

Direct/Individual Recruitment

  • Build and maintain a pipeline of qualified candidates for current and anticipated clinical openings.

  • Represent NLH at job fairs, community events, and professional conferences to promote the organization as an employer of choice.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with local allied health training programs and professional schools.

  • Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and develop targeted recruitment strategies.

General

  • Maintain accurate and confidential candidate records in compliance with hospital policy and applicable regulations.

  • Maintain compliance with all applicable employment laws, Joint Commission standards, and NLH policies throughout the recruitment and onboarding process.

  • Utilize the applicant tracking system (ATS) to manage requisitions, candidate flow, and reporting.

  • Collaborate with HR colleagues on onboarding, employer branding, and workforce planning initiatives.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.

  • Minimum 2–3 years of recruitment experience required; healthcare recruitment experience strongly preferred.

  • Experience recruiting Acute Care, Rehabilitation (PT/OT/Speech), Diagnostic Imaging, or manager-level professional healthcare staff highly desirable.

  • Experience managing agency/vendor relationships a plus.

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong understanding of healthcare licensure and credentialing requirements.

  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and relationship-management skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple requisitions and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficiency with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • High degree of discretion and ability to handle confidential information.

Working Conditions

  • Primarily office-based with occasional travel to job fairs, schools, and community events.

  • May require occasional evening or weekend hours for recruitment events.
