JOB SUMMARY
The Marketing Manager (Business Development & Partnerships) is responsible for developing and implementing programs that drive tour flow through marketing channels in the Japan market. This role focuses on building and maintaining relationships with customers, vendors, and alliance partners, evaluating program performance, and implementing solutions to enhance tour generation and overall effectiveness. The position also communicates marketing strategies to alliance partners and internal marketing teams and monitors the day-to-day activities of external vendors.
The incumbent will also perform general administrative duties to support Sales & Marketing operations, promote brand awareness both internally and externally, prepare marketing materials and information packages (e.g., brochures and promotional materials), and coordinate with legal and finance teams both regionally and at the U.S. headquarters. Executing Marketing Strategy
- Participate in the development and implementation of strategic plans to increase tour flow through marketing channels.
- Manage and execute tour-generation initiatives with alliance partners, including but not limited to financial institutions, airlines, and other loyalty program partners.
- Collect and analyze competitive intelligence (e.g., marketing programs and campaigns) to support the enhancement and development of current and future marketing strategies.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with alliance partners to build a network that supports lead generation.
- Ensure pricing and communications related to preview packages are consistent across all channels.
- Contribute to the development and review of direct mailers, digital advertisements, and other marketing materials, including audio/video presentations, billboards, events, seminars, activities, and special in-house functions.
- Monitor package sales production and activation performance on a weekly basis to support accurate forecasting and tour allocations.
- Review channel performance reports and identify opportunities to improve tour generation.
Managing Relationships External to Marketing
- Collaborate with Finance, Sales, NOA, Member Services, and Legal teams to resolve issues and support business objectives.
- Build and maintain relationships with alliance partners to ensure a clear understanding of eligibility requirements and participation guidelines for tour-generation programs.
- Communicate marketing strategies and relevant program information to the sales organization.
- Establish and maintain partnerships with resort operations, hotel-linkage partners, OPC vendors, and other relevant stakeholders, where applicable.
Other
- Maintain a working knowledge of all Marriott Vacation Club product lines.
- Maintain current computer systems knowledge as used by the company e.g. OTM, MOOD, Timeshareware.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in marketing, sales, business development, or partnerships within the hospitality, banking, or credit card industry. Partnership management experience is preferred.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent tertiary qualification.
Required Qualifications
- Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Proven verbal and written communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and demonstrate initiative.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Native-level proficiency in spoken and written Japanese and English.
- Proficiency in spoken and written Mandarin Chinese is an advantage.
