Full job description
Adecco is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Shear Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. The Shear Machine Operator is responsible for setting up and operating power shears to cut metal materials into specified shapes and sizes while ensuring accuracy, quality, and compliance with production requirements. This role requires the ability to read blueprints and work orders, perform machine adjustments, conduct quality inspections, and maintain a safe work environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Cut various sheet metal materials and aluminum tubing according to specifications.

Adjust the distance between cutters to accommodate material thickness.

Position and clamp workpieces to the table and set the required distance between the center point of the workpiece and cutting blades.

Operate power shears to perform precise cuts on metal materials.

Lift, align, and guide workpieces manually or with a hoist to create straight and irregular cuts.

Lay out cutting lines on workpieces or trace patterns from templates.

Perform routine machine maintenance, including cleaning, lubricating, and minor repairs.

Inspect finished parts to verify conformance to quality standards and specifications.

Troubleshoot minor machine issues and report significant concerns to supervision.

Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and regulations.

Maintain a clean and organized work area through regular housekeeping.

Assist with other duties and projects as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Experience operating shear machines or similar metal fabrication equipment preferred.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders.

Knowledge of machine operation and safe use of hand tools.

Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and accuracy.

Ability to identify and troubleshoot machine or production issues.

Good communication and teamwork skills.

Ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Strong commitment to workplace safety.
Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.

Ability to lift, move, and handle metal materials as required.

Ability to work safely around moving machinery and production equipment.

Pay Details: $21.00 to $23.00 per hour
