Our client, a leader in industrial automation and manufacturing support, is seeking a Controls Engineer to join their team. As a Controls Engineer, you will be part of the Engineering Department supporting project management and technical development. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective communication, which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: Controls Engineer
Location: Sterling, Illinois
Pay Range: $85,000 - $100,000
What's the Job?
-
Create PLC & HMI applications for weighing, batching, and material handling systems
-
Assist with electrical design and project approval tasks
-
Conduct in-house and field checkout of industrial control panels and equipment
-
Provide customer support during system start-up and troubleshooting
-
Develop detailed documentation including sequences of operations, front panel layouts, and instruction manuals
What's Needed?
-
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
-
Experience with Allen Bradley hardware, including PLCs like CompactLogix and ControlLogix, VFDs, and Soft Starters
-
Proficiency with Rockwell Software products such as Studio 5000, RSLogix, and FactoryTalk Studio ME/SE
-
Experience with CAD software, preferably E-Plan, DraftSight, or AutoCAD
-
Knowledge of industrial controls, sensors, and troubleshooting techniques
