Special Education Teacher — 1.0 FTE, Probationary Location: Pashley Elementary School
The Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Central School District is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Special Education Teacher to join our team at Pashley Elementary School. This is a full-time (1.0 FTE), probationary position for a New York State–certified educator who is passionate about supporting the success of all learners.
The ideal candidate will inspire and engage students with disabilities, foster a love of learning, and collaborate with colleagues to create a supportive, inclusive, and enriching educational environment.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

Implementing and creating IEPs (Individual Education Programs)

Assessing students’ strengths, needs, and abilities to inform instruction

Developing and implementing lesson plans aligned to individual learning goals

Collaborating with general education teachers, social workers, counselors, psychologists, and other professionals to support student achievement

Coordinating paraprofessional staff in implementing instructional and behavioral support plans

Monitoring student progress and adjusting instructional strategies as needed

Communicating regularly and effectively with families regarding student progress and needs

Maintaining accurate and up-to-date student records and documentation

Participating in ongoing professional development to remain current with best practices in special education
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education (required)

Valid New York State Special Education Teaching Certification

Experience working with students with disabilities preferred

Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills

Commitment to fostering an inclusive and culturally responsive learning environment
