Overview
Be part of the nation’s only repository for the disposal of nuclear waste known as Transuranic (TRU) waste.
Salado Isolation Mining Contractors, LLC (SIMCO), managing and operating contractor of the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) is currently seeking a qualified individual to serve as a Mine Operations Administrative Subcontractor Technical Representative (ASTR) and join our team located in Carlsbad, New Mexico.
Responsibilities
Roles:
-
Administer and oversee all technical subcontract requirements including but not limited to; Statement of Works, site safety requirements, QA requirements, environmental policy requirements, subcontract submittals, invoice approval, coordinate subcontractor training, and subcontractor field oversight of low hazard activities

Maintain AR/VRs for assigned contracts or for Project Subcontract Technical Representatives.

Route the AR/VRs for approval.

Maintains file copies of all documents and correspondence relating to subcontract technical guidance.

Administrative subcontract oversight for invoice verification and submittals
Responsibilities:

Support PSTR while work is being performed ensuring subcontractor compliance with site procedures, training, addressing change notices, working with procurement and the subcontractor to ensure Statement of Work requirements are met.

Support PSTR with all required duties as outlined in WP 15-PC3608 Revision 12 Subcontract Technical Representative Program Manual

Responds to technical request from subcontractor and ensures responses are complete, timely, and comply with subcontract requirements.

Collects and distributes subcontractor reports and submittals to Manager and others as needed.

Schedules/Plans meetings as required.

Routes Work Control Documents (WCDs) for review and signatures.

Performs other duties as assigned by Manager or Immediate Supervisor.
Minimum Requirements

Education and Experience

Associate’s degree with two (2) years of administrative oversight, managing and/or supervising experience, or
-
High School Diploma or Equivalency with four (4) years of administrative oversight, managing and/or supervising experience is required.

Must be 18 years of age.

Must be authorized to work and remain in the United States without SIMCO visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy badge for access to the WIPP Site (even if teleworking, must still be able to comply with security requirements to obtain a badge).

Non-U.S. citizens from countries identified by the Department of Energy as posing heightened security concerns—including sensitive countries, state sponsors of terrorism, countries of risk, and other designated countries –are subject to additional security requirements that limit site access.
Definition of Experience:
"Administrative Oversight" defined as experience with any of the following: submittals, AVRS'S, Procurement Software and CMMS or similiar financial duties/products, contacts, scopes of work interpretation/reviews, approving invoices, creating purchase requisitions/ purchase orders, or billing .
Preferred Requirements
Previous WIPP experience with Procurement Software and CMMS.
Salary Range
$70,972 to $123,573 per year . Exempt grade level(s) 28-30. The specific salary offered to a candidate will be influenced by a variety of factors, particularly the candidate’s relevant experience and education.
