About the Role
Are you ready to contribute to the future of space operations? Sigmatech is seeking a high-caliber Senior Software Engineer to join our mission-critical team supporting the United States Space Force (USSF) in Cape Canaveral, Florida.
This is not a "behind-the-scenes" coding role. We are looking for a technical leader who thrives at the intersection of complex software development and direct customer engagement. You will be responsible for building robust, high-performance applications that support Space Launch and Range operations, requiring a blend of deep technical expertise and sharp project management skills.
Key Responsibilities
Full-Stack Development: Lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable, high-availability applications using .NET Core (C#) and a modern React/Vite/Mantine front-end stack.
Customer Engagement: Act as a primary technical point of contact for USSF stakeholders. You will translate mission requirements into technical specifications and provide regular project updates to customers.
Project Management: Manage the full software development life cycle (SDLC), including sprint planning, requirement gathering, and timeline management to ensure mission success.
System Architecture: Design secure, performant, and reliable software architectures capable of meeting the rigorous demands of space launch environments.
Mentorship & Code Quality: Drive engineering excellence through code reviews, architectural oversight, and mentorship of junior team members.
Required Experience:
Required Qualifications
Technical Expertise: 5+ years of professional software development experience, with a mastery of C# and .NET Core.
Front-End Mastery: Proven experience building modern web applications using React (experience with Vite and Mantine is a significant plus).
Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. You must be comfortable presenting to high-level stakeholders and technical users alike.
Problem Solving: Ability to manage multiple project threads and pivot quickly in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.
Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to successfully undergo a background investigation to obtain a government security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
Domain Expertise: Prior experience with Space Launch, Range operations, or Aerospace software is highly desirable.
DoD Experience: Previous experience working on Department of Defense (DoD) contracts or within a defense environment.
Clearance: An active clearance is a major plus.
Project Leadership: Experience in a lead developer or technical project management role.
Education/Certification
BA/BS desired (Substitution of experience: 4+ years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.);
