Job Description

Our client seeking an Avionics Test Engineer to support the development, qualification, and flight testing of spacecraft avionics hardware, including commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) and custom electronic systems. This role will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to validate avionics performance from assembly through environmental and flight test campaigns. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support avionics testing through functional, thermal, vibration (vibe), and thermal vacuum (TVAC) test campaigns.
  • Develop and execute test plans, procedures, and validation activities.
  • Investigate test anomalies, perform root-cause analysis, and drive corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with systems, software, propulsion, mechanical, and thermal engineering teams to define and verify requirements.
  • Analyze and communicate test results, documenting findings and recommendations.
  • Support system-level integration, verification, and qualification of flight hardware.
  • Maintain accurate test records, engineering documentation, and compliance artifacts.

Skills and Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field (or 10+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree).

  • 3-5 years of experience testing or developing avionics, electrical, or electromechanical systems, preferably in aerospace or spaceflight.

  • Experience working across multidisciplinary engineering teams.

  • Familiarity with hardware development, integration, and qualification testing.

  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced engineering environment.

  • Experience supporting spacecraft, launch vehicle, or other flight hardware programs.

  • Knowledge of environmental testing methods, including TVAC, vibration, and thermal testing. Familiarity with aerospace industry standards and flight qualification processes.
