Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Inspector with a minimum of three years of experience to join our diverse team. You will primarily be involved in Sheetmetal Inspections across various industries such as medical, automotive, and aerospace. This role involves working on products for our largest customer, focusing on precise measurements and quality control.
Responsibilities

Conduct detailed sheet metal inspections for various industries including medical, automotive, and aerospace.

Read and interpret blueprints accurately.

Set up and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).

Perform inspections using surface plates.

Work with cable harnesses and complete box builds.

Use and maintain tools such as wrenches, tweezers, screwdrivers, and calipers.

Carry out first article inspections.

Engage in quality assurance and control activities.

Perform precise measurements, which constitute 80% of the job.
Essential Skills

Proficiency in reading blueprints and schematics.

Experience with CMM setup and operation.

Familiarity with surface plates and detailed mechanical inspection.

Competency in using calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.

Strong attention to detail.
Additional Skills & Qualifications

Previous experience in mechanical assembly.

Ability to conduct visual inspections.

Experience with basic wiring.

Work Environment
The role is based on the FM Fabrication side, not in a clean room but in a machine shop setting. The environment can be loud and occasionally exposed to weather elements, so appropriate attire is necessary. You will work closely with a team of three, including a manager, in a collaborative and dynamic setting.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Union City, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $34.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
