Full job description

Job Duties

Underwrite, originate and service all types of commercial and commercial real estate loans.

Make effective sales calls on customers and prospects and assist in loan and deposit growth goals for the bank.

Assist clients with preparing business plans, projections, sources/uses of funds.

Establish structure of loans within framework of loan policy and prudent loan structuring guidelines and extend loans up to the limit of the lending authority granted by the Board of Directors.

Ensure that proper loan documentation is completed, and handle customer information and files in a manner that provides high level of external and internal customer service. Provide complete and accurate information to appropriate lending support personnel. Uphold confidentiality at all times.

Manage existing relationships by proactively seeking additional business, promptly working future maturities, and participating in the annual review process to determine if additional lending needs are present.

Remain current on relevant industry and community information to ensure proactive analysis of loan portfolio as significant events occur.

Proactively identify and manage credit risk through careful review of customer financial statements, overdraft reports, past due loan reports, watch reports and loan review reports. Act as work out lender when necessary.

Maintain product knowledge of all bank products/services and create meaningful customer relationships that attract all of our clients’ financial business.

Assist in the training and mentoring of new lenders as assigned, and assist other lenders in underwriting, originating and servicing all types of loans as needed.

Participate in overall bank management by serving on internal committees.

Maintain complete knowledge and understanding of Loan Policy, as well as knowledge of policy and compliance requirements for banking. Handle all customer interactions and file records in compliance with federal, state, and FDIC regulations. Assist in and respond to internal and external audits and reviews.

Underwrite and originate Small Business Administration (SBA) loans including having an understanding of eligibility requirements and standards of practice.

Minimum Education Required

Degree in business or finance related field.

Minimum Experience Required

Understanding of accounting, time value of money concepts, business finance, and business law.

Proficiency with Excel, Word, Power Point, Microsoft Outlook, and Windows products.

Mathematical skills.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Proven sales ability and established referral sources.

Strong, in-depth credit analysis and risk management skills.

High level of industry and product knowledge.

Results orientation—plans, organizes and uses time, technology and resources efficiently.

Team player—develops and maintains positive working relationships.

Provides a professional experience for internal and external customers.
