Sales Director - Mid-Market

A subsidiary of UGI Corporation, UGI Energy Services supplies and markets natural gas, liquid fuels, renewable natural gas, and electricity to 42,000 customer locations across the Mid-Atlantic and Northeastern US. Position Summary

  • Runs the mid-market segment (large commercial / small industrial accounts, roughly 25,000–100,000 annually), where efficiency and margin discipline outweigh deep relationship management.

  • Makes the team fast and accurate at qualifying, pricing, and closing volume.

  • Runs targeted proactive campaigns where the economics justify it.

Essential Functions

  • Manage segment throughput, including quote turnaround, quote-to-close conversion, and accurate deal setup.

  • Enforce margin and pricing standards, escalating only genuine exceptions (load-factor anomalies, factor errors) to complex-pricing support.

  • Run periodic proactive and targeted sales campaigns against curated customer lists.

  • Own renewal management for the segment, using lighter-touch or automated communication where appropriate.

  • Ensure reps can answer standard program and pricing questions without routing each one to support, reducing rework and delay.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong process and operational sales-management capability.

  • Ability to hold a team to pricing and margin discipline.

  • Sufficient product and program knowledge to coach reps through standard questions.

  • Campaign and list-based selling and conversion management.

  • Working knowledge of pricing and demand-charge fundamentals.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.

  • Experience: 7+ years in commercial energy sales, including team leadership and process/throughput management.

  • Certifications: None required.

  • Licenses/Registrations: N/A.

  • Other: Ability to travel to customer sites.

Organizational Context

  • Direct reports: 6–12.

  • Budget responsibility: $8–10 million.

  • Total headcount managed: 6–12.
