Job Summary Dr. Amy Yeung is seeking a Research Technician II to join an active basic, translational, and clinical research program focused on porphyria, a group of rare genetic disorders of heme biosynthesis. Working at the Cutaneous Biology Research Center (CBRC) with the PI and a postdoctoral fellow, the Research Technician II will conduct laboratory research involving cell culture, molecular and cellular assays, biospecimen processing, data analysis, and experiments investigating the genetic, hematologic, and cutaneous mechanisms of porphyria and responses to treatment. The position will also support investigator-initiated and industry-sponsored clinical trials, observational and registry studies, participant recruitment and study visits, clinical data collection and management, regulatory documentation, and the collection of research biospecimens. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to porphyria research spanning laboratory-based investigation and direct interaction with patients.
Summary Carries out a broad range of technically advanced research activities and procedures; evaluates conclusions and has considerable latitude to modify or devise methods and techniques as necessary to achieve desired results; typically supervises technical and sometimes administrative elements of the research unit.

Essential Functions -Executes protocols of non-routine experiments. -Assists PI with determining the most suitable methodology. -Performs basic design and modification of protocols. -Calculates, transcribes, and analyzes data. -Prepares and presents reports. -Organizes and summarizes acquired data using scientific and Statistical Techniques. -Participates in the design of experiments or field work.

Experience Previous Research Lab Experience 1-2 years required

- Analytical skills and ability to resolve technical problems.
