Full job description

Position Objective: Provide services as a System Administrator III in support of the overall functions of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID).

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support enterprise cloud and SaaS operations by onboarding and administering SaaS platforms, managing identity and access controls, and performing routine system troubleshooting.

  • Apply foundational knowledge of AWS services and cloud administration to maintain secure, reliable system environments.

  • Support authentication and authorization integrations, including SAML and OIDC, to ensure seamless user access across applications.

  • Troubleshoot web based applications, monitor system performance, and assist in maintaining system documentation, security compliance, and operational continuity.

  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to resolve issues and enhance system reliability.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • HS diploma or GED

  • 6 or more years of system administration experience required

  • 2–4 years of experience with onboarding SaaS systems

  • 2–4 years of experience with Identity and Access Management

  • 2–4 years of experience with SAML tracer, SAML decoder, SAML or OIDC tokens, and SSO certificates

  • 2–4 years of experience with AWS cloud management and administration

  • 2–4 years of experience with AWS services (EC2, RDS, CloudWatch, CloudFormation, SNS, Route 53, Backup, etc.)

  • 2+ years of experience troubleshooting web based application issues

  • Knowledge of network fundamentals, including DNS, subnetting, firewalls, IP addressing, or CIDR

  • Ability to obtain Public Trust clearance or other applicable security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with SaaS products supporting:

– Document Management

– Electronic Common Technical Document (eCTD) Management Systems

– Quality Management Systems

– Clinical Data Systems

– Trial Master File Systems

– Electronic Lab Notebooks

– Specimen Management Systems

  • Experience with scripting and automation

  • Experience with security vulnerability remediation

  • Knowledge of Computer Systems Validation principles (IQ, OQ, PQ)

  • AWS Certification
