Description

The Staff Title Specialist performs title research and ownership verification to support land acquisition and right of way activities. The Staff Title Specialist role identifies and resolves routine title defects, prepares title reports and commitments, and coordinates with legal and acquisition teams to support accurate and timely documentation.

  • Perform detailed title research and ownership verification for assigned parcels.

  • Review and interpret deeds, easements, liens, mortgages, restrictions, and other encumbrances.

  • Identify and resolve routine title defects and coordinate with appropriate team.

  • Prepare title reports, commitments, and ownership summaries in accordance with project standards for both surface and mineral ownership.

  • Update title documentation as needed.

  • Coordinate with acquisition staff to support negotiations and agreement execution.

  • Maintain accurate tracking logs and ensure documentation completeness.

  • Maintain compliance with company and project-specific safety policies, protocols, and training requirements.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Complies with all policies and standards.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent and 8 years related experience required.

  • Or, Associate Degree in related field and 6 years related experience.

  • Or, Bachelor Degree in Real Estate, Business, or related field and 4 years related experience.

  • Experience in title examination, land services, right of way, or real estate required

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proficient in the use of computer software (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Working knowledge of title research methods and public records.

  • Familiarity with ROW acquisition processes and documentation.

  • Ability to travel to project sites, as required.

  • Valid driver’s license required.

This job posting will remain open a minimum of 72 hours and on an ongoing basis until filled.
