Hiring for quality control inspector $35.00 to $42.00 in Southwick, MA
Job Description
This position supports aerospace and defense manufacturing operations by combining precision finishing, inspection, and quality verification activities to ensure complex components meet stringent dimensional, cosmetic, and customer requirements. The role involves working on 1st and 2nd shift in a climate-controlled aerospace manufacturing facility, performing hands-on inspection and finishing tasks while collaborating closely with manufacturing, quality, and engineering teams.
Responsibilities

Perform detailed visual and dimensional inspections on aerospace and defense components to verify compliance with engineering specifications and customer requirements.

Use precision measurement equipment, including calipers, micrometers, gauges, height gauges, and other inspection tools, to confirm critical dimensions and tolerances.

Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, inspection procedures, and work instructions to accurately execute inspection and finishing operations.

Document inspection results thoroughly and maintain accurate quality records in accordance with internal procedures and aerospace quality standards.

Identify non-conformances, determine appropriate material disposition, and support corrective actions to resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence.

Perform polishing, chamfering, deburring, finishing, repair, and rework operations on complex aerospace components while maintaining exacting dimensional tolerances and surface finish requirements.

Support First Article Inspections and production lot verification to ensure new and ongoing production meets all quality and customer requirements.

Participate in internal audits, Lean Manufacturing initiatives, and quality improvement activities to enhance processes and overall product quality.

Collaborate closely with manufacturing, quality, and engineering teams to address quality concerns and improve inspection and finishing methods.

Adhere to all safety policies and aerospace quality standards while working in a fast-paced environment focused on quality and delivery performance.

This is a Permanent position based out of Newington, CT.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $77000.00/yr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
