Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join a team in Stow, Ohio on a Long-term Contract basis. This permanent, on-site opportunity is well suited for an accounting specialist who can manage daily transactional work while contributing to month-end activities with accuracy and consistency. The position will provide coverage during an extended leave and offers the chance to step into a broad accounting role that supports both operational and close-related functions.

Responsibilities:

• Manage customer billing activities, apply incoming payments accurately, and follow up on outstanding balances to support timely collections.

• Process supplier invoices, maintain vendor records, and assist with scheduled disbursements to ensure accounts payable operations run smoothly.

• Prepare journal entries and record accruals as part of the monthly close process, maintaining accuracy across the general ledger.

• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies to help keep financial records complete and reliable.

• Contribute to the close timeline by completing assigned tasks on schedule and responding to additional accounting requests as business needs arise.

• Use Sage Intacct and Excel to organize accounting data, support reporting needs, and improve day-to-day efficiency within the function. Requirements • At least 1 year of accounting experience, with practical exposure to accounts receivable, accounts payable, and month-end close activities.

• Hands-on ability to prepare journal entries, work within the general ledger, and support account reconciliation processes.

• Experience using Sage Intacct in an accounting environment.

• Strong Microsoft Excel skills for analyzing data, tracking transactions, and supporting reconciliations.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred.

• High attention to detail, quick learning ability, and confidence working independently after initial training.

• Background in invoicing, cash application, and business-to-business collections is highly valued.
