ATTENTION ALASKA RESIDENTS! The Department of Labor and Workforce Development, Division of Employment and Training Services, is recruiting for an Employment Services Technician 3 located in Anchorage! No Cover Letter Required!

This position is in the Supervisory Unit (SS) at a Range 16.

What You Will Be Doing: The Employment Services Technician 3 (EST 3) is a supervisory role responsible for overseeing daily operations in the Anchorage Midtown Job Center’s resource room. You will ensure customers receive effective, high-quality service while providing supervision, direction, and program support to Employment Services Technician 1 staff. Your responsibilities include hiring, scheduling, training, and managing performance, as well as guiding day-to-day workflow. You will also maintain strong partnerships with workforce and community organizations, monitor program performance, and uphold service quality across all resource room activities.

Minimum Qualifications

One year of experience as an Employment Services Technician 2 with the State of Alaska or equivalent elsewhere. OR Two years of experience as an Employment Services Technician 1 with the State of Alaska or equivalent elsewhere. OR Three years of experience such as providing employment services; coordinating training services; conducting skills assessments; making referrals to community support services; assisting individuals apply for federal/state financial assistance or benefits; providing services to the public; explaining policies, procedures, services, or requirements to the public; resolving customer complaints or problems; calculating costs, refunds, taxes, or benefits; providing written explanations, summaries, reports, or correspondence; or locating and inputting information into data systems such as reservation, ticketing, or application systems.

DRIVER’S LICENSE REQUIREMENT Applicants must possess a valid driver’s license. Proof of licensure will be required prior to reporting to duty.

  • A copy of your last two (2) performance evaluations. If performance evaluations are unavailable, provide two (2) professional letters of recommendation from someone other than your three (3) professional references.
