Full job description

At Sword, we’re building AI to heal billions and unlock humanity’s full potential. In doing so, we’re pioneering AI Care, a fundamentally new approach to healthcare built for medical reasoning, safety, and real-time treatment, not generic technology applied after the fact. As both a clinical-centric frontier AI lab and an applied AI platform, Sword is reimagining how care is delivered at scale, removing traditional barriers like appointments, waiting rooms, and stigma so more people can access the care they need—and ultimately get back to lives lived in full.

Since 2020, Sword has expanded across physical therapy, women’s health, cardiometabolic, and mental health, and is now moving beyond the session to a fully AI-native, 24/7 care program that brings physical activity, therapeutic exercise, psychotherapy, nutrition, and behavior change into one connected experience. More than 700,000 members across three continents have completed over 10 million AI sessions, helping 1,000+ enterprise clients avoid more than $1 billion in unnecessary healthcare costs. Backed by 42 clinical studies, 44+ patents, and more than $500 million raised from leading investors including Khosla Ventures, General Catalyst, and Founders Fund, Sword is defining a new standard for healthcare.

AI Proficiency at Sword

AI fluency is a core expectation at Sword. Every candidate is assessed against our three-level framework — be ready to share real examples of how AI is already part of how you work.

• Explorer (Level 1) — Uses AI daily to boost personal productivity

• Builder (Level 2) — Creates workflows and tools that elevate the whole team

• Integrator (Level 3) — Embeds AI into products and processes at scale

Every hire must demonstrate at least Level 1. The expected level will vary depending on the seniority of the role.

Role

The Director of Consultant Relations leads Sword’s strategic alliances across top-tier benefits consulting and brokerage firms. In this role, you will own executive-level relationships, shape territory-wide consultant strategy, and translate market influence into consistent pipeline acceleration and net-new business outcomes. You will serve as a key commercial partner across Sales, Customer Success, and leadership to establish Sword as the preferred AI Care solution for major employers.

What you’ll be doing

• Drive territory strategy and high-yield pipeline: Architect and execute a multi-threaded territory plan to build executive consultant relationships and generate net-new, consultant-referred opportunities.

• Expand executive alliance coverage: Build senior relationships across priority national and regional firm offices to establish preference for Sword and drive inclusion in client evaluations.

• Map key stakeholders: Cultivate relationships with practice leaders, subject matter experts, and regional influencers across major consulting practices.

• Enable consultant positioning: Deliver executive briefings, clinical impact updates, and consultant-ready messaging to equip partners to confidently recommend Sword.

• Partner with Sales and CS leadership: Align co-selling strategies across active enterprise pursuits to accelerate deal speed and maintain consistent messaging throughout the buyer journey.

• Secure program leadership: Lead participation in consulting firm vendor programs and execute executive alignment sessions to present market trends and joint growth goals.

• Activate target market events: Design and execute strategic regional touchpoints and executive roundtables that deepen engagement and generate measurable pipeline.

• Maintain CRM & forecasting discipline: Ensure rigorous tracking of activity, influence, and pipeline metrics in Salesforce to maintain forecast accuracy and clean attribution.

What you need to have

• MUST HAVE direct experience working at or interfacing extensively with WTW, Aon, Mercer, or Lockton with a deep understanding of their internal consulting structures and evaluation processes.

• 8+ years of progressive experience in consultant relations, benefits consulting, or commercial alliance management within the employer health benefits industry.

• Demonstrated track record of building high-impact relationships that convert into measurable revenue, pipeline growth, and preferred vendor status.

• Strong business development and multi-threading expertise, with the ability to expand coverage across complex enterprise organizations.

• Executive-level communication and presentation skills to clearly articulate complex clinical and AI value propositions to senior decision-makers.

• High operational comfort in a metrics-driven environment, including territory ownership and disciplined CRM hygiene (Salesforce).
