Business Systems Analyst

Job Description

We are seeking a Business Systems Analyst to support healthcare reporting and ETL initiatives. You'll partner with business stakeholders and technical teams to deliver reporting and data solutions that support critical healthcare operations. You'll work closely with users to understand claims-related processes, reporting needs, and business challenges, then translate those needs into clear, actionable requirements for development teams. Using SQL and data analysis, you'll validate data, identify trends and issues, and ensure reporting solutions provide accurate, meaningful insights for decision-makers. In this role, you'll lead requirements gathering sessions, create user stories and functional documentation, and serve as the primary liaison between business and technology teams throughout the project lifecycle. You'll also develop test scenarios, coordinate user acceptance testing, and help ensure solutions are delivered on time and meet business expectations. Success in this position means improving reporting accuracy, reducing ambiguity for developers, driving more efficient business processes, and helping stakeholders make informed decisions through reliable healthcare data. We're looking for someone who is naturally curious, asks thoughtful questions, and can uncover the true business need rather than simply documenting requests.

Skills and Requirements

• 5+ years of Business Systems Analyst or Technical Business Analyst experience.
• Healthcare payer or managed care experience, including an understanding of claims processes.
• Hands-on SQL experience for data analysis and validation.
• Experience supporting reporting, ETL, data extract, or data integration initiatives.
• Experience writing functional requirements and test scripts.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work between business and development teams.
• Analytical, consultative approach with the ability to uncover the true business need.
• Experience with Facets, Jiva, or another healthcare payer application.
• Experience with healthcare reporting or data warehouse environments.
• Candidates local to Pennsylvania are preferred, but remote candidates may be considered.
