Summary

About the Position: This position is located at FE Warren Air Force Base, Wyoming. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Duties

  • Process requests for information applicable to patient's records such as medical histories, x-rays, laboratory and radiographic reports, pathological reports, clinical records and related data.
  • Log all incoming requests, date received, requester and date of completion.
  • Research and extract required information from hospital inpatient and outpatient records.
  • Process Congressional inquiries when appropriate or provides input to others when responding to Congressional inquiries.
  • Review and interpret regulatory criteria and changes thereto; prepare local supplements and standard operating procedures.

Qualifications

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes utilizing various office automated systems and software to create and manipulate documents; composing and processing correspondence for medical record requests; and reviewing patient's medical records. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). OR Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 36. Then divide your total number of completed undergraduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 120. Add the two percentages. Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.
