Description We are looking for an experienced Human Resources Business Partner to support field operations in the healthcare industry while partnering closely with leaders and employees across multiple locations. This contract position has the potential to become permanent and is based in North Carolina, with remote work and regular travel expected two to three days each week. The person in this role will help leaders navigate employee relations matters, strengthen team effectiveness, and promote consistent, compliant people practices in a fast-moving operational environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the main HR advisor for assigned operational sites, building strong partnerships with managers and employees to address day-to-day people needs.

  • Provide practical guidance on employee relations issues such as attendance concerns, behavioral matters, workplace disputes, performance challenges, and corrective actions.

  • Lead or support workplace investigations by gathering information, maintaining thorough records, evaluating potential risk, and recommending appropriate next steps.

  • Counsel leaders on performance management, disciplinary decisions, employee separations, and other sensitive employment matters.

  • Apply HR policies and employment law requirements consistently while identifying issues that may create legal or organizational risk and escalating them when needed.

  • Coach people leaders on communication approaches, documentation standards, accountability, conflict management, and effective supervisory practices.

  • Work with leadership to respond to employee concerns, improve team interactions, and support engagement and retention efforts across assigned locations.

  • Collaborate with HR partners on compliance-related matters involving leave administration, workplace accommodations, wage and hour questions, and workers’ compensation cases.

  • Review workforce and employee relations trends to identify patterns and recommend practical, data-informed actions that improve the employee experience.

  • Support broader HR initiatives such as talent discussions, workforce planning, organizational changes, leadership development, and travel to sites as business needs require. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and applicable experience.

  • At least 3 years of progressive HR experience with strong exposure to employee relations and manager support.

  • Demonstrated ability to handle workplace investigations, performance management matters, corrective action processes, policy interpretation, and employment risk evaluation.

  • Solid understanding of federal and state employment laws along with current HR practices.

  • Strong communication, coaching, judgment, and conflict resolution skills in complex employee situations.

  • Ability to balance competing priorities and support multiple locations in a fast-paced field operations environment.

  • Experience in multi-site healthcare, dental, retail, or similar operational settings is preferred.

  • HR certification with strong attention to detail is preferred.
