Description
We are looking for an experienced Leave of Absence Administrator / Leave Specialist to support a large, multi-state employee population. This Long-term Contract opportunity is ideal for an HR specialist who can manage complex leave and accommodation matters with accuracy, sound judgment, and a strong service mindset. The person in this role will guide employees and leaders through leave processes while helping the organization maintain compliance with applicable regulations and internal standards.
This is a 6-month contract position
100% ONSITE 5 days a week in Dallas, TX 75254
Interim Leave of Absence (LOA) Specialist (contract position):
Responsibilities:

Oversee a high-volume portfolio of active leave and accommodation cases, ensuring each matter is handled promptly, accurately, and with appropriate follow-up.

Administer a broad range of employee leave programs, including family and medical leave, disability-related accommodations, paid and unpaid leave options, and applicable state or local leave provisions.

Manage the full lifecycle of leave requests by coordinating intake, reviewing supporting documentation, tracking status updates, and driving timely resolution.

Communicate with employees, people leaders, medical providers, and external partners to clarify requirements, provide updates, and support a smooth leave experience.

Track deadlines and documentation requirements closely to maintain compliance and ensure records are complete, current, and properly retained.

Work with HR leadership and legal partners to address regulatory questions and support consistent application of federal, state, and local leave laws.

Review existing leave cases, help resolve outstanding items, and recommend practical improvements to workflows, reporting, and documentation practices.

Serve as a knowledgeable resource on leave policies, workplace accommodations, and return-to-work planning, while partnering with HR colleagues on more complex employee situations.

Maintain confidential case files and ensure all leave-related records meet company expectations and applicable compliance standards.
Requirements • Bachelor’s degree required.

At least 3 years of experience administering leave of absence programs, accommodations, or closely related HR functions.

Demonstrated experience managing leave cases across multiple states.

Strong working knowledge of leave regulations, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, and related compliance obligations.

Ability to manage a high-volume workload with strong organization, prioritization, and case management skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees, managers, and cross-functional partners.

High level of discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive and confidential employee information.

Proficiency with HR systems and Microsoft Office applications.
