Under direct, limited supervision the Incident Management Coordinator provides coordination and oversight to the BHDD-OIDD Incident Management System. Duties include:• Provides direct oversight and coordination for BHDD-OIDD's process for Incident Management Review (Abuse, Neglect, Exploitation, Critical Incident, and Death Reporting) as submitted by providers.
- Coordinates ongoing assessment and review of reporting practices. Serves as the primary contact for provider staff regarding questions about the reporting process for all BHDD-OIDD incident management reports. Provides day to day technical assistance and training to improve reporting and compliance with administrative reviews described in BHDD-OIDD's Directives, ensuring compliance with Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) regulations and Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) Waiver evidentiary requirements.
- Responsible for triage staffing of incident management reports and escalation of events.
- Serves as the subject matter expert for provider staff regarding questions about the reporting process for all OIDD incident management reports. Provides technical assistance and training materials to provider staff and other BHDD-OIDD Divisions to improve reporting and compliance with administrative and management reviews described in BHDD-OIDD's Directives.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
This position is located at BHDD's Central Office in Cayce, SC.

Education and Experience Requirements:• Master’s Degree in Human Services, Public Health, Health Administration, Behavioral Sciences, Education, or a related field, plus 2 (two) years of experience in administration, quality assurance, organizational behavior, organizational change, or supervision. OR
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services, Public Health, Health Administration, Behavioral Sciences, Education, or a related field, plus 4 (four) years of experience in administration, quality assurance, organizational behavior, organizational change, or supervision.
Additional Requirement:• Experience in the OIDD service delivery system.
Understanding of the BHDD-OIDD Mission and its approach to consumer-oriented risk management activities. Ability to exercise professional judgment and discretion, including the interpretation of Agency Directives and Standards and the application of the SC Omnibus Adult Protection Act. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships while working with limited supervision. Effective communication, time management, and decision making skills. Ability to prepare clear and comprehensive reports, as requested. Knowledge of and prior experience with disabilities-specific provider systems, including critical incident response. Immunization: If this position requires the applicant to work directly with consumers of The South Carolina Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities, Office of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, tuberculosis (TB) skin or blood testing must be completed prior to beginning employment. All new employees who are healthcare providers are required to provide documentation of immunity or be immunized against measles, mumps, rubella, pertussis, Varicella and Hepatitis B prior to beginning employment. State Disaster Plan: In accordance with the State's Disaster Plan, which includes hazardous weather, employees of The South Carolina Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities, Office of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities may be required to work in times of an emergency or disaster.
