About the Team

This role will report to the Assembly Team Lead and will work alongside a team of Mechanics, Electricians and Production Workers; based full time at our Military Vehicle Centre of Excellence (MILVEHCOE) in Redbank. The Assembly Team forms part of the greater Production team, which includes Painters, Welders, the Prototype Shop, the Armour Shop and the Logistic Systems team.

About the Role

The Assembly Mechanic is responsible for the completing mechanical build tasks for Vehicles and Subsystems to be built in the RDA production facility - Military Vehicle Centre of Excellence (MILVEHCOE) in Redbank. The main scope of this role is to complete the assembly tasks in first-run production in accordance with Manufacturing Instructions, Engineering Drawings, Quality Standards, and WH&S requirements.

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes:

  • Certificate III in Heavy Diesel / Light Vehicle or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent;

  • Ability to read and interpret production drawings, manuals, and technical documents;

  • A high level of self-motivation, initiative, the ability to work unsupervised and willingness to participate and contribute as part of a team;

  • The ability to travel interstate or overseas for short training periods (infrequent); and

  • Eligibility to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (Australian Citizenship required).
