JOB DESCRIPTION
Rosalyn Yalow is looking for a Director of Special Education to manage the school's RTI process and coordinate all activities with the Committee on Special Education (CSE), including reviewing the IEPs of existing students and ensuring mandated services are being provided. The director is responsible for identifying new and existing students who may need to be referred to the CSE for an initial IEP following the school's rigorous RTI protocols of student observation and data collection with teachers and development of a step-by-step intervention plan. The Director of Special Education will be responsible for communicating with the student's family at all stages of the RTI process and coordinating the scheduling of IEP mandated services provided by external services providers.
Starting salary: $90,000 - 100,000
RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop effective working relationship with the CSE and educate the CSE about Yalow's RTI process for at‐risk students

Oversee management of student caseloads by special education teachers to improve academic outcomes

Assign specialists to support classroom teaching teams with individual student or group instruction in classrooms

Oversee and manage IEP referrals, 504 plans, and annual and triennial IEP reviews
