  • Educate participants on how to accurately capture physical activity and food intake using study-provided materials and tools.

  • Review participant information and, in accordance with the study protocol, determine whether patients are eligible to participate based on inclusion and exclusion criteria.

  • Collaborate with the broader clinical research team to ensure adherence to study protocols and high-quality data collection.

  • Interact occasionally with the principal investigator (PI) and clinical research associates (CRAs) to discuss participant progress and study-related matters, as needed.

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of participant encounters, dietary plans, and activity tracking in line with clinical research standards.

  • Support continuous improvement of lifestyle management procedures by providing feedback on participant engagement and outcomes.

Essential Skills

  • Active North Carolina dietitian license.

  • Registered Dietitian credentials with demonstrated competence in nutrition counseling.

  • Experience or strong interest in clinical research settings.

  • Ability to design and implement individualized diet and exercise plans based on protocol requirements.

  • Strong skills in health education and patient teaching, particularly around nutrition and physical activity tracking.

  • Ability to interpret and apply inclusion and exclusion criteria to determine participant eligibility.

  • Clear and professional communication skills for working with participants and clinical research staff.

  • Strong attention to detail and adherence to established protocols and documentation standards.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Good Clinical Practice (GCP) certification is preferred; training can be provided if not already obtained.

  • Prior experience working with clinical research associates (CRAs) and principal investigators (PIs) is beneficial.

  • Experience with lifestyle management programs, including diet and exercise interventions, is an advantage.

  • Comfort with educating individuals on self-monitoring tools for diet and physical activity.

  • Ability to work independently within a structured research framework while collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
