Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech), you will be pivotal in producing diagnostic images that enable Radiologists to accurately diagnose and manage patient conditions.

Each day, you will perform a variety of imaging examinations, including X-rays, ultrasound, diagnostic fluoroscopy, CT/CAT scans, and MRIs, while actively contributing to a positive patient experience through direct interaction.

To excel, you must deeply understand diagnostic imaging's critical importance, encompassing expertise in workflow, patient positioning, and capturing precise results essential for timely and accurate diagnoses.

  • Independently perform all diagnostic radiographic imaging and fluoroscopic procedures and specialty procedures of secondary specialty skill according to department protocols keeping with orders from referring physicians, including patient positioning, safe patient handling, and radiographic techniques. Transfers and positions patients. Measurement: Observation, Feedback.

  • Provides radiation protection in accordance with prescribed safety procedures. Measurement: Observation,Feedback, Departmental monitors. Accepts responsibility for placing exams in PACS, is able to print images and burn CDs as needed. Measurement: Observation, Feedback, Film accuracy, Film quality.

  • Identify patients using 2 identifiers, verify physician orders, and explain procedure to patient and obtain consent if needed. Interviews patients for pertinent medical history on patients prior to performing studies.

  • Uses sterile technique and prevents cross-contamination. Assists in performing of first aid as necessary. Administers and/or assists the physician in administering radiopaque material. Measurement: Observation, Feedback, Departmental monitors.

  • Ability to function independently in radiology workflows which include RIS/PACS systems, radiographic equipment, as wells as department communication and support systems. Places orders in the HIS/RIS and makes all corrections and cancellation as necessary.

  • Demonstrates competency and proficiency in patient care for pediatric (neonate as necessary), adult and geriatric patients. Performs scheduling duties, record keeping, patient coordination and prioritization or triage of emergency add-ons.

  • Must have aminimum of oneyear (1) experience as a stafft echnologist with atleast one (1)year experience in one specialty field. Will actively work in both Radiology and second specialty. Specialty experience will be waived for those accepted into a training program., upon hire

  • Fluoroscopy Radiology Tech: CA, upon hire and

  • Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT, upon hire or

  • Registered Technologist Bone Densitometry, upon hire or

  • Registered Technologist Cardio Interventional Radiography, upon hire or

  • Registered Technologist Mammography, upon hire or

  • Registered Technologist Magnetic Resonance Imaging, upon hire or

Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.

Pay Range

$56.31 - $66.33 /hour
