Scope of Job
Manage the faculty credentialing process for UTRGV , including determining and documenting faculty qualifications as they relate to each class taught. Prepare, review, and/or revise assigned reports and documentation for submission to UT System, THECB , and SACSCOC , including administrative and non-substantive changes, new program proposals, graduate admissions changes, accreditation compliance certification and reaffirmation reports, and substantive change prospectuses.
Description of Duties
-
Manages faculty credentialing process, including determining and documenting faculty qualifications as they relate to each class taught.

Manages database module in FPT that handles faculty degrees and SACSCOC credentials.
-
Liaises with the Provost’s office and departments/schools to obtain missing faculty transcripts for inclusion in the credentials database.
-
Advises colleges/departments regarding transcript evaluations, credentialing standards and requirements, credentialing processes, and documentation of faculty qualifications.

Reviews and approves submissions for new faculty hires through the online validation form system.
-
Communicates with department chairs and program coordinators to ensure adequate justification and documentation is on file for each faculty member.

Develops and provides detailed course-by-course faculty rosters as required for program review, specialized accreditation, and SACSCOC reports.

Serves as a subject matter expert, addressing questions from faculty, program coordinators, department chairs, and deans regarding degree information, teaching qualifications, and SACSCOC credentials.

Provides training to deans, department chairs, and academic administrators regarding the faculty credentialing process and documentation of faculty qualifications.

Prepares faculty credentials reports for submission to external agencies and accrediting bodies.

Manages the database of required academic qualifications for all courses offered at UTRGV .
-
Oversees ad hoc and biennial review and revision of academic qualifications requirements, including review and final approval of requested qualification changes.

Researches, prepares, and drafts narratives for assigned SACSCOC reports, including analysis of data and development of documentation demonstrating compliance.
-
Serves as liaison and subject expert to lead writers for assigned narratives.

Reviews assigned narratives, and other accreditation reports for accuracy of content, grammar, punctuation, formatting, and documentation.

Prepares assigned substantive change proposals for submission to SACSCOC .

Prepares administrative and non-substantive change documents for submission to UT System and THECB .
-
Prepares required UT System forms for approval of changes in graduate admissions requirements.
-
Reviews assigned new program proposal drafts and provides feedback.

Reviews assigned university webpages for accuracy, grammar, punctuation, formatting, and verification of attachments/hyperlinks. Recommend revisions prior to approval for publication.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.

Required Experience
Four (4) years of higher education experience, including experience with faculty credential review, accreditation, managing complex processes or projects, data analysis and/or drafting/reviewing reports to meet external agency requirements.

Knowledge of and direct experience with SACSCOC accreditation requirements.

Direct experience with accreditation and compliance in a higher education environment.

Needs to be able to successfully perform all required duties. Office Environment: some travel and weekend work may be required. UTRGV is a distributed institution, which requires presence at multiple locations throughout the Rio Grande Valley.
