Summary
Engineering Technician (Field) for Term/Surv/WX Installation Center B - FTW.
Duties
Coordinates outages with the System Support Center (SSC) and Air Traffic (AT) as required for the project. Applies broad experience and advanced technical knowledge in interpreting drawings, review installation designs and specifications. Verifies project material, manage project logistics, purchase materials, determines and implements construction methods used in the installation/construction/integration of equipment and systems. Coordinates activities with stakeholders, provides project status updates, attends project meetings, executes site surveys, participates in Contractor Acceptance Inspections (CAI¿s), and Joint Acceptance Inspections (JAI¿s). May serve as Contracting Officer Technical Representative (COTR) overseeing work activities to ensure contract requirements are met. May be required to coordinate between the Project Engineer and the Contracting Officer (CO) or other stakeholders. Incumbent maintains technical competency on legacy systems as well as installs and integrates new systems. Uses appropriate technical documentation such as FAA Orders for guidance. Exercises practical judgment and discretion in accomplishing work assignments in a safe manner. Possesses broad knowledge of FAA policies and procedures pertaining to the work environment such as OSHA. Work s with a high degree of independence, keeping the manager advised of significant problem areas. Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of the NAS as an integrated system in order to deal with unusual problems or unanticipated issues. May be called upon to provide guidance and training to other employees. Work is reviewed in terms of appropriateness of actions taken, thoroughness, and the achievement of overall objectives. Work may have direct impact on air traffic control operations. Contacts are internal and external to the organization, such as but not limited to, State and Federal Agencies, DOD, airport management, contractors, and utility companies. Performs other project related tasked as required/needed. Uses hand and power tools for the installation of electronic equipment. May be required to climb antenna towers, poles or structures in excess of 50 feet above the ground. May be working with electrical power systems such as power panels; disconnect switches to plumbing; concrete work; and other construction related duties. Requirements

Qualifications must be met by the closing date of this vacancy announcement. There is no time frame requirement at the Level II/FV-G to compete. Candidates must show experience at the level of difficulty and responsibility that is appropriate to the position. Generally, experience at the next lower level FV-G/Level II, meets the minimum qualifications for this position as long as the experience supports the demonstrated abilities identified below. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience includes: Experience providing technical support associated with analyzing, designing, developing, installing, repairing, fabricating, modifying, or evaluating systems. Experience as a journeyman technician or team leader for projects and/or program areas. DEMONSTRATED ABILITIES: You MUST provide a NARRATIVE statement for each Demonstrated Ability. The narratives should be clear and concise, providing a description of your education, training and experience that would describe the degree to which you possess each Demonstrated Ability. Candidates must show experience at the level of difficulty and responsibility appropriate to the position. Eligible candidates will be ranked based on DEMONSTRATED ABILITIES.
