Job Description

Eurofins PSS is seeking a highly motivated scientist to support the client’s Early Formulation Science and Drug Delivery group. The candidate will work directly on a client site in Cambridge, MA and the role requires daily onsite presence, five (5) days per week. This position will collaborate directly with group project leads and, in some cases, client Pharmacology/Biology scientists. This scientist will support the development of stage-appropriate traditional and enabled formulations for pre-clinical studies. This role will also be responsible for conducting basic in vitro experiments and basic in silico predictions, in addition to basic material science and physicochemical properties assessments of early drug candidates. This role includes both laboratory measurements and basic data interpretation to inform bio-performance and stability risks for development of oral small molecule drug candidates. ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prediction and experimental evaluation of physicochemical properties of potential small molecule drug candidates (solubility and chemical/physical properties)
• Contribute to the development and evaluation of fit for purpose, standard and enabled formulations for preclinical studies (oral, subcutaneous, intravenous, etc)
• Perform dissolution / precipitation/ flux studies of drugs in biorelevant conditions
• Support laboratory experiments for novel research efforts in the area of pharmaceutics and biopharmaceutics.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• MS with 2-4 years of experience, or BS with 3-6 years of experience in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Physical Chemistry, Physics, Physical Organic Chemistry, Pharmaceutics, or Pharmaceutical Sciences.
• Experience working independently and collaboratively in a laboratory environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in conducting hypothesis driven laboratory experiments and detailed capture of experimental details and observations in electronic laboratory notebook systems.
• Experience with application of fundamental principles of general chemistry
• Experience with basic data structuring and capture
• Experience with basic AI prompting
• Experience with formulation design for preclinical studies
• Strong organizational skills, interpersonal skills, teamwork skills, strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and activities while managing tight timelines

Additional Information

The position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm, with overtime as needed. Candidates living within a commutable range of Cambridge, MA are encouraged to apply.
