The Opportunity

This position works out of our Abbott Park, IL location within the AQR Abbott Quality & Regulatory division.

Individual contributor with comprehensive knowledge in instructional design with an ability to execute highly complex or specialized projects. Responsible for designing and maintaining programs for the systematic monitoring and evaluation of the various aspects of a project, service, or facility to ensure that standards of quality are being met.

What You'll Work On:

  • Design learning assets: Instructor-led, web-based, job-aids. Select and use a variety of techniques for determining instructional content and strategies. Create a design document that specifies learning objectives, measures of student learning, learning materials design specifications, and learning impact (e.g. business results). Evaluate/Recommend existing learning materials.

  • Develop assets: Create storyboards, web-based training for interactive multimedia delivery, instructional graphics, and diagrams. Use variety of authoring tools: Articulate360, Synthesia, and Microsoft Office.

  • Evaluate and assess the impact of learning. Work with management to evaluate the effectiveness of the training curriculum by implementing measures to track outcomes and ensure alignment to business objectives.

  • Provide project management during design to implementation phases of the learning solution. Interface with clients, business organizations and vendors as necessary during the design process.

  • Understand business strategy and translate into learning solutions to support the client population.

  • Ability to think clearly, write concisely and communicate effectively, including being able to explain technical concepts in non-technical terms.

  • Demonstrated instructional design and development skills including needs analysis, and systematic instructional design processes, graphic design and visual support, evaluation, and impact assessment.

  • Demonstrate ability to apply adult learning principles.

  • Demonstrated problem-identification, problem-reporting and problem-solving skills in working with computer technology.

  • Familiar with developing internet and eLearning technologies.

  • Project and time management skills-managing multiple priorities.

  • Good interpersonal, influencing and negotiating skills.

  • Team player with a positive attitude, sense of urgency, and willingness to do whatever is needed to achieve project goals and requirements.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate/Bachelors Degree in Instructional Design, Training and Development, Education, or related field or equivalent experience

  • Minimum of 6 years’ experience of Instructional Design.

  • Articulate360, specifically Storyline.

The base pay for this position is $78,000.00 – $156,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
