Job Description

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Power Systems Engineer to support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of electrical power distribution systems across agricultural processing facilities, grain terminals, biofuel plants, petroleum terminals, refineries, pipelines, and related industrial operations. This role will be responsible for conducting electrical system modeling, arc flash hazard assessments, and protective device coordination studies utilizing the SKM PowerTools software suite. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of industrial power systems, regulatory compliance requirements, and electrical safety programs in high-risk operating environments.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain detailed electrical system models using SKM PowerTools for agricultural and petroleum facilities. Perform short-circuit, load flow, arc flash, and protective device coordination studies for low- and medium-voltage electrical distribution systems. Analyze electrical infrastructure supporting: Grain elevators and milling facilities Feed processing operations Ethanol and biofuel plants Petroleum terminals and storage facilities Pipeline pumping stations Refining and processing operations Conduct arc flash hazard assessments in accordance with IEEE 1584 and NFPA 70E standards. Evaluate existing electrical protection schemes and recommend improvements to enhance personnel safety, equipment protection, and system reliability. Review and update electrical one-line diagrams, equipment data, and system documentation. Support facility expansion, modernization, and capital improvement projects by providing power system analysis and engineering recommendations. Develop technical reports, study documentation, and corrective action recommendations. Collaborate with operations, maintenance, safety, and project engineering teams to implement study findings.

Skills and Requirements

-Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline. -5+ years of experience performing power system studies in industrial environments. -Proficiency with SKM PowerTools software. -Experience performing: Arc Flash Studies Power System Modeling
