Schedule: Fulltime Shift: Days/Nights Department: Adult Critical Care/NICU/Women's Services
- Performs hemodynamic procedures, including assembly and calibration of arterial lines, assisting with pulmonary artery catheter insertion, and performing cardiac output and hemodynamic profiles.
- Responds to Code Blue emergencies, providing CPR and performing airway maintenance and procedural respiratory support.
- Utilizes patient assessment skills, protocols, and multidisciplinary team consultations to determine therapy efficacy and make appropriate recommendations.
- Performs respiratory therapies, oxygen delivery therapies, and makes recommendations for efficient delivery methods.
- Obtains, analyzes, and reports findings of arterial blood gases, co-oximetry, and performs quality controls. Initiates, maintains, transports, and monitors mechanical ventilators, including conventional and non-conventional modes of ventilation.
- Assists physicians with diagnostic and therapeutic bronchoscopy procedures, including equipment setup and breakdown.
- Provides effective patient education on therapy modalities to patients and their families.
- Demonstrates knowledge of infection control methods, safe body mechanics, and applicable regulations and standards.
- Performs complex diagnostic and therapeutic procedures according to established standards and training.
- Interprets evaluations and test results to determine appropriate treatment plans in consultation with the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Assesses, stabilizes, and treats neonates and pediatric patients according to established respiratory services protocols.

- Pediatric//Neonatal resuscitation and stabilization. [Required]
- Assessment of the Pediatric//Neonatal patient, Pediatric//Neonatal respiratory care procedures, Pediatric//Neonatal pharmacology [Required]
- Respiratory care of the post-operative pediatric patient (general and cardiac surgery). [Required]
- Respiratory Care management of Pediatric//Neonatal diseases [Required]
- Respiratory equipment used in the PICU, including, but not limited to therapeutic, monitoring and diagnostic equipment. [Required]
- Conventional and unconventional Pediatric//Neonatal mechanical ventilation [Required]
- Advanced experience with neonatal and pediatric critical care [Preferred]
Education:
- Associate's [Required]
- Bachelor's [Preferred]
Field of Study:
- In Respiratory Care
Work Experience:
- 2+ years adult, neonatal and/or pediatric critical care clinical experience in acute care setting [Required]
Licenses and Certifications:
- Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS) [Required]
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support Cert (PALS) [Required]
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) [Required]
- State Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) [Required]
- Active NBRC Credentialed Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) [Required]

Pay Range:
$26.33 - $48.98 Background Screening Requirement (Florida Law)
