Position Highlights
SUMMARY: Cares for patients at all acuity levels across the lifespan for procedures including, but not limited to, surgical, diagnostic, theraputic, and pain management.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
-
Graduate of a CCNE or NLN accredited school of registered nursing required.

Certified Nurse Anesthetist, CRNA.
CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE, and/or REGISTRATIONS:
-
Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Iowa and/or meeting the requirements of multi-state licensure required.

Certified Nurse Anesthetist, CRNA, Board of Nursing
-
BLS/ACLS and PALS Certification
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Performs pre-operative patient assessments. Determines plan of care and communicates the plan of care to patient and family. Establishes and maintains essential venous access. Ensures establishment and maintenance of airway. Responsible for inducting and maintaining and properly managing the anesthesia. Responsible for completing the anesthesia and the emergence from anesthesia. Transfers care to appropriate staff at termination of procedure. Performs post-operative follow-up for each patient/case performed. Perform as a clinical instructor for anesthesia students.
