Full job description

We are looking for an Actuarial Product Development Manager to join our Actuarial Library team, supporting the enhancement of libraries supplied with the FIS Insurance Risk Suite (Prophet) solution.

We sit at the forefront of the Insurance modelling industry and empower insurers and re-insurers around the world with the tools and services they need to reliably manage their risks. In the Actuarial Library team, you will enhance the modelling capabilities in Prophet to meet customer needs and regulatory developments affecting the global financial industry

What you will be doing:

  • Develop actuarial code for the libraries provided with Prophet,
  • Broadening the solution to include emerging new risks including climate
  • Review peers’ actuarial code for accuracy and appropriateness,
  • Ensure that product deliverables are suitable and well documented
  • Work closely with other actuarial teams to deliver holistic solutions

What you bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or science-based subject
  • At least 5 years’ experience working in a life insurance department or consultancy
  • Have used the Prophet system for a minimum of 5 years
  • Familiar with implementing modelling changes in Prophet using its extended formula functionality, for example experience with making changes to the ALS library
  • A background in insurance or financial services
  • A good working knowledge of Excel,
  • Word, and PowerPoint Experience working as part of a large diverse, global team
  • Strong problem solving and analytic skills
  • Strong verbal and written English language skills

Added bonus if you have:

  • Worked directly with numerous advanced Prophet modelling techniques: new business processing, calculation looping, rebasing, goal seeking, nested structures, modules, or dynamic and stochastic modellingBe aware of potential performance bottlenecks and solutions when designing models
  • Technical knowledge of programming and systems developmentTechnical knowledge of cloud infrastructure and technology
  • Awareness of emerging regulatory and risk topics that will impact the financial industry, including climate related risks
