Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Supervisor, Maintenance Mechanical for a large amusement park, water park, and campground/resort complex in Kansas City, MO.
This individual will support the Maintenance Mechanical Manager by leading and developing maintenance personnel while overseeing maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance activities for rides, equipment, and facilities. The Supervisor will be responsible for scheduling work, assigning resources, ensuring maintenance procedures are followed, and maintaining accurate maintenance documentation. This role will oversee day-to-day maintenance operations, guide mechanics through troubleshooting and repair efforts, help coordinate maintenance projects, and ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company standards, manufacturer requirements, and collective bargaining agreements.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, schedule, assign, and review work performed by maintenance personnel.
- Train, coach, and develop maintenance employees while maintaining performance standards.
- Oversee ride inspections, mechanical troubleshooting, and repair activities.
- Assist with part and component design efforts as needed.
- Establish and monitor preventative maintenance schedules.
- Ensure timely completion of work orders and repair requests.
- Inspect maintenance work for compliance with safety, quality, regulatory, and company standards.
- Coordinate maintenance projects with other departments, vendors, contractors, and ride manufacturers.
- Review inspection records, downtime reports, rehab reports, accident reports, and maintenance documentation.
- Maintain schedules, reports, work orders, performance evaluations, and other departmental records.
- Enforce Collective Bargaining Agreement requirements and company policies.
- Support safe and reliable operation of rides, equipment, and facilities.
Skills and Requirements
- 4-6 years of verifiable mechanical maintenance experience, preferably in an industrial or amusement park environment.
- 1-3 years of leadership or supervisory experience.
- Experience organizing, training, and overseeing technical maintenance staff.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Experience scheduling maintenance work, inspections, and repairs.
- Ability to oversee preventative maintenance programs and ensure timely response to work orders.
- Experience reviewing maintenance records, inspection reports, downtime reports, and work orders.
- Strong communication skills with management, union employees, seasonal employees, vendors, contractors, and manufacturers.
- Ability to make sound decisions during emergency situations.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Vocational or technical training in maintenance or mechanics.
- Experience in an amusement park environment.
- Experience supervising ride inspections and ride maintenance activities.
- Knowledge of ASTM and ADA accessibility requirements for buildings and facilities.
- NAARSO Level 1 Ride Inspector Certification.
- AIMS Level 1 Certification.
- Experience coordinating work with contractors, ride manufacturers, and multiple operational departments.
- Experience working within a union environment and enforcing Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) requirements.
