The Occupational Health Intern is a part-time, year-round internship. The internship is located in Richland, WA and requires working on site at the Columbia Generating Station.

The Occupational Health Intern will be responsible for the following job tasks.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Print and organize lab results.

  • Calibrate medical equipment.

  • Collect and distribute mail.

  • Monitor inventory and order medical supplies.

  • Conduct medical chart audits.

  • Perform monthly inventory of responder supply cabinets.

  • Prepare charts for record retention.

  • Schedule and manage appointments.

  • Prepare and maintain medical charts.

  • Answer phone calls and respond to emails.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook and Excel.

  • Familiarity with Workday or similar HR systems.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

  • Excellent communication skills.

GENERAL SUMMARY

Provide entry-level administrative and/or technical support for the designated organization based on assigned projects. This position will be directly accountable to assigned department staff and will support assigned project related activities and initiatives.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Support assigned routine department activities

Support technical project-related activities within the department

Support emergent related work or assignments

REQUIRED EDUCATION

Requires current part to full-time enrollment status in a bachelor’s or graduate degree program in an administrative field related to the assigned role at an accredited college or university. Target hire designation is determined by the expected knowledge level needed for the job duties assigned to each internship and by the expected status level of the student when the internship commences (Senior, Junior, etc).

Must maintain a minimum 2.8 cumulative G.P.A. unless approved by Human Resources. The selected candidate will be expected to be available to work onsite at the designated work location on a year-round basis if business needs warrant it. High School Diploma or GED required.

PAY RANGE

Pay is based on academic level:

Freshman Salary: $19.31 per hour

Sophomore Salary: $19.31 per hour

Junior Salary: $20.35 per hour

Senior Salary: $24.10 per hour

BENEFITS

Temporary employees may be required to participate in the Washington State Pension Plan (PERS) and may also be eligible to enroll in medical insurance if the duration and hours worked requirements are met. Temporary employees accrue paid time off that is available to use after 90 days of employment.
