Job Title: Project/Program Manager (Non-IT)

Job Description

The primary role of a Project/Program Manager in this non-IT capacity is to plan, direct, and coordinate activities in various fields such as engineering, research and development, financial systems, product roll-out, and other non-IT based projects.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate projects by making detailed plans to achieve goals and directing the integration of technical activities.

  • Present and explain proposals, reports, and findings to clients.

  • Recruit employees, assign tasks, direct, and evaluate their work while overseeing the development and maintenance of staff competence.

  • Analyze technology, resource needs, and market demand to plan and assess the feasibility of projects.

  • Confer with management, production, and marketing staff to discuss project specifications and procedures.

  • Review and recommend or approve contracts and cost estimates.

Essential Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and manage one's time effectively.

  • In-depth knowledge of production processes, quality control, costs, and techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.

  • Understanding of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, and production methods.

  • Proficiency in computer software including MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, and Visio.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field is required.

  • PMI or PMP certification is preferred.

  • 5-7 years of experience in purchasing, supply chain, and program management.

  • Proficient in MS Office 365.

  • Master's degree is acceptable.

  • Candidates with an associate degree and 7+ years of experience will also be considered.

  • Internships are accepted as job experience.

  • Previous roles such as Buyer may provide a comparable experience for this role.

Work Environment

This position is based in an office environment located in Peoria. The role involves collaborating with the Peoria Manager.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of East Peoria, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
