Job Description

Title: Project Site Safety Coordinator

Location: Mount Sterling, KY

Company: Fortune 100 Food & Beverage Manufacturing (FuseGlobal has worked with this company for 20 years)

Initial term: 6 months (position expected to run longer)

Schedule: Mon-Fri on site

About This Role: We are seeking a Project Site Safety Coordinator to ensure safety at our client site in Mount Sterling, KY.

What You'll Do:

Daily Routine:

Ensure that a documented pre-shift daily safety briefing is conducted with the project team to discuss any potential hazards or safety concerns for the day.

If the project operates on multiple shifts, complete a safety coordinator shift handoff to discuss the outgoing and incoming shift, highlighting points of safety focus.

Inspect the work area to ensure compliance with safety regulations and identify any potential hazards.

Issue, approve and close daily required Permits to Work, Risk Predictions, and inspections throughout the day to ensure that all safety protocols are being followed.

Provide safety training and guidance to workers as needed.

Review and update safety procedures and protocols, as necessary.

Investigate and report any accidents or incidents that occur on site.

Attend project meetings to provide updates on safety performance and addressing any safety-related concerns. Including daily updates to the Project Manager assigned to the project.

Provide weekly documented training sessions (toolbox talks) to workforce that is pertinent to the work being performed.

Monitor the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) by all workers.

Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training.

Weekly Routine:

Conduct a comprehensive safety inspection of the entire work site, including equipment, machinery, and work areas. (using a standardized safety inspection checklist)

Review and update the project's safety plan and procedures. Including evaluating the upcoming work and generating all required work plans (i.e., Critical Lift Plan, Line Break Plan, etc.)

Conduct safety meetings with subcontractors to address any safety issues or concerns.

Review and analyze safety performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement.

Including compiling cumulative data for Risk Predictions completed, Permits completed and work hours. Utilizing the Safety Pyramid.

Conduct safety training sessions for new workers or subcontractors joining the project.

Coordinate with the project team to ensure that safety requirements are incorporated into the project schedule and plans.

Review and update safety signage and communication materials on site.

Conduct safety audits of subcontractors to ensure compliance with safety regulations.

Provide safety updates with factory project stakeholders to provide updates on safety performance and address any concerns.

Monthly Routine:

Conduct a thorough review of the project's safety performance (including ISN reviews) and identify areas for improvement.

What You Bring:

Minimum certification: OSHA 30, OSHA 501 preferred.

Minimum (5) years of experience in a safety role being responsible for reviewing and approving work permits within an electronic permit to work system; including critical lifts, hot works, work at heights, etc.

Ability to monitor and verify LOTO activities for energized systems.

Experience coaching contractors on proper usage of PPE.

Experience reviewing JHA’s with contractors prior to work beginning.

Enforcement of great housekeeping on all job sites.

Basic computer skills.

Compensation & Benefits:
