Senior Accountant

Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to support financial operations for a plant site in Cresco, Pennsylvania. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, delivering timely reporting, and partnering with site leadership to monitor business performance. The ideal candidate brings strong close-cycle accounting expertise and a solid understanding of manufacturing or plant-level accounting activities.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the monthly and quarterly financial close for the site, including recording journal entries, booking accruals, tracking prepaid expenses, and completing balance sheet reconciliations.

• Produce and share plant financial reports, including profit and loss statements and cost analysis, to support operational leaders and executive stakeholders.

• Manage the fixed asset records for the facility, oversee depreciation activity, and process asset additions, transfers, and retirements for production equipment.

• Uphold adherence to company and parent organization accounting standards, policies, and internal financial controls at the site level.

• Work closely with shared services partners to resolve accounts payable and accounts receivable coding questions, address account discrepancies, and support period-end accrual activity.

• Review general ledger activity and investigate variances to help ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency in financial reporting.

• Assist plant leadership with financial insights that improve visibility into operating costs and site performance trends.

Requirements • 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing, plant, or operational finance environment.

• Hands-on experience with month-end close processes, general ledger maintenance, and preparation of journal entries.

• Strong background in account reconciliation, including balance sheet and bank reconciliations.

• Knowledge of fixed asset accounting, depreciation, and related financial reporting requirements.

• Ability to interpret financial results and communicate key findings clearly to leadership.

• Familiarity with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes and collaboration with shared services teams.

• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively.
