Organization: ABSMC-Ashby Campus Position Overview: Performs technical ultrasound procedures under the direction of a Radiologist. Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required. Job Description: EDUCATION Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
- Associate's: Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school or equivalent education/experience
- Other: Graduation from a certified school of ultrasound
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE
- ARDMS-American Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
- BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN:
- 2 years related experience and/or training
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Demonstrates competence in all areas of ultrasound positioning.
- Knowledge of physiology procedure preparation and technical factors.
- Able to operate all ultrasound equipment, and select and modify technical factors as needed.
- Provides for good patient rapport by maintaining positive and effective communication skills to alleviate patient anxiety.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively with customers or employees of organization.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Pay Range is $70.61 to $90.11 / hour The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs. Base pay is only one component of Sutter Health’s comprehensive total rewards program. Eligible positions also include a comprehensive benefits package.
