Full job description

THOR Solutions is looking for a highly motivated Integrated Logistics Specialist to support the management and support of services for the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) Waterways Commerce Cutter (WCC) Project Resident Office (PRO), located at Bayou La Batre, AL.

The ILS Specialist will assist the USCG oversee the design, construction, delivery and support of USCG vessels designed for critical missions on US waters.

Typical Responsibilities:

  • Manage and review contractor-submitted Integrated Logistics Contract Data Line Item (CDRL’s) procedures.

  • Review shipbuilder deliverable, procedures and plans and assess these artifacts for compliance with the WCC production contract and applicable USCG policy.

  • Review technical manuals and documents submitted by the WCC shipbuilder to include but not limited to commercial vendor technical manuals specific to WCC systems and components, general cutter information manuals supplied by the WCC shipbuilder, other technical manuals, and electronic technical publications.

  • Support the USCG in planning for and conducting physical configuration audits of WCC vessels to assess compliance with approved configuration baselines.

  • Assess the impacts of all proposed configuration and engineering during design and production of WCC vessels, with specific emphasis on logistics considerations for the duration of the WCC life-cycle.

  • Assist with material loadout evolutions.

  • Provide Government Furnished Material support to assist in the tracking and transfer of items to the shipbuilder.

  • Aid with the acquisition, receipt, and disbursement of the initial outfit of all Government furnished Storeroom Items and Operating Space Items necessary for initial operations of the cutters.

Location: Onsite at USCG Shipyard Facility in Bayou La Batre, AL.

Typical Physical Requirements: Mix of desk/computer work in an office environment and periodic visits to waterfront/shipboard environments. May involve: repetitive motion, traversing shipboard environments (e.g., tight spaces, ladders, hatches) or vision.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Highschool diploma/GED equivalent.

  • An ideal candidate will possess a technical diploma, professional certification, Associate degree, or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.

  • At least three (3) years of relevant experience in integrated logistics support of ship construction.

  • Knowledge of ship construction.

  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
