This position serves as the Maintenance Repairer 2 in the District 02 /Unit 775, Facility Maintenance. The incumbent of this position is responsible for maintenance and repair of the Crescent City Connection (CCC) Administration Building, CCC Police / Maintenance Building, Pumping Station and any other State Property assigned by Foreman to repair or maintain. The incumbent is also required to assist with roadway duties, including but not limited to, pothole repairs, attenuator repairs and cement bollard replacement. The incumbent must be skilled in plumbing and carpentry work. The incumbent must also be proficient to operate some heavy equipment such as forklifts, mowers and front-end loaders. Facility Maintenance: Performs repairs to buildings owned and operated by DOTD. Make repairs such as plumbing and HVAC, replace broken windows, replace ceiling tiles, floor tiles, change filters in A/C units. Perform repairs to hot water heaters, water fountains, and small equipment such as lawn mowers and weed eaters. Make repairs to ice machines, perform carpentry work such as hanging doors, repairs to walls, floors and other wooden structures. Repairs to water lines. Repairs to door locks and door hinges. Assists with mechanic repair and routine maintenance of the General Degaulle Pump station.

Ground Upkeep: Mow grass at facilities listed above and any other State Property assigned by first or second line supervisor. Landscape maintenance includes trimming trees and bushes, remove weeds from flower beds. Grade and level grounds when needed. Ensure a safe path of entry to State Property. Performs repairs to sprinkler systems.

Bridge Roadway Maintenance: Assists with the repair of potholes, removal of debris from roadways, repairs to damaged attenuators, replacement of damaged concrete bollards, repair of damaged signs, benches and trash containers. Cleans CCC ground level areas of debris and trash.
Position-Specific Details: Appointment Type: Probational or Promotional Career Progression: Vacancies may be filled from this recruitment as a Trades Apprentice, Maintenance Repairer 1 or Maintenance Repairer 2 depending on the level of experience of the selected applicant(s). The maximum salary for the Maintenance Repairer 2 is $6,136.00.
