Des Moines, IA, USA | Immigrant and Refugee Community Services | 20 per hour | Occasional

If you're looking for a way to make a positive change in your community, LSI is looking for you. Join our team as a Community Resource Navigator today! What You'll Do

The Community Resource Navigator will provide direct support services to LSI clients. The Navigator will assist clients in overcoming language and cultural differences and reducing barriers to work towards community integration and self-sufficiency. The Community Resource Navigator will use bilingual or multilingual skills to facilitate support clients in educational activities and workshops in order to maximize clients' understanding and utilization of LSI services and community resources. Communicate information to clients from educational classes, appointments, and paperwork. Work with community partners, volunteers, and other LSI staff to ensure high-quality services to clients in a plan of action that supports client goals.Daytime availability preferred. Applicants must be available for in-person work, but some remote opportunities may be available. Ideal applicants will speak Swahili, with preference for those who also speak Kinyarwanda. Work schedule will vary frequently depending on available hours.

What You'll Need

High school diploma/GED and 6 months related experience. Qualified candidates will have the ability to communicate successfully in English and at least one other language to meet the needs of populations served. Lived experience may be considered qualifying.
