The EMC Test Technician is responsible for conducting electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing to ensure Masimo's products meet applicable international regulatory and agency requirements. This role performs both pre-compliance and formal compliance testing within the company’s in-house EMC laboratory.

The position reports to the Manager, EMC Lab and is part of the Hardware Engineering department located in Irvine, CA and will be an on-site role.

In This Role, You Will Have The Opportunity To:

  • Perform RF immunity and emissions testing in accordance with established EMC test plans and applicable international standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Prepare, maintain, and organize EMC test reports, test procedures, and test data.

  • Collaborate with the design engineers to investigate test failures, troubleshoot issues, and support corrective actions.

The Essential Requirements Of The Job Include:

  • Associate’s degree with 3+ years of experience in EMC testing, including developing test procedures and preparing technical test reports.

  • Working knowledge and understanding of applicable EMC compliance standards and test methods, including:

  • IEC 60601-1-2

  • CISPR family of standards

  • IEC 61000-4 series of standards

  • Other applicable international EMC standards and regulatory requirements

  • Experience with EMC test software, such as TDK Lab, TILE, EMC32, or BAT-EMC.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • EMC testing within highly regulated industries, such as medical devices, military/defense, or aviation.

  • Performing common EMC laboratory calibration and validation procedures, including Normalized Site Attenuation (NSA), Uniform Field testing, and Measurement Uncertainty assessments.

  • Experience troubleshooting EMC test failures and working collaboratively with engineering teams to identify and resolve compliance issues.

The hourly range for this role is $33 - $39 per hour. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.
