Job Description:

We are looking to hire a Deputy Chief, Surface Transit Capital Programs and Strategic Coordination!
Roles and Responsibilities:

Serve as the primary lead coordinator for major capital projects affecting Bus, Light Rail, and Access Link operations.

Lead cross-functional teams responsible for complex capital and strategic initiatives.

Represent operational interests throughout planning, design, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, and implementation.

Ensure operating requirements are incorporated into project plans, specifications, facility designs, and implementation schedules.

Coordinate with Capital Delivery, Procurement, Finance, IT, Safety, Security, Legal, Government and Community Relations, and other departments.

Establish project governance structures, reporting processes, decision points, and escalation procedures.

Represent Surface Transit at meetings, committees, and project reviews as needed.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Vice President.
Education, Experience and Qualifications:
-
Bachelor's degree in Business, Public Administration, Engineering, Transportation Planning, or related field.

Fifteen plus (15+) years of progressively responsible management experience in transit operations or capital projects.

Experience coordinating complex capital programs across multiple departments and operating divisions.
-
Project Management Professional (PMP) or comparable credential preferred.
-
One year of closely related work experience can be substituted for each year of education required.
Knowledge and Skills:
-
Strong understanding of capital project development and operational readiness processes.

Knowledge of transit operations, fleet management, maintenance, safety, accessibility, and customer-service requirements.

Ability to manage multiple complex initiatives and competing priorities.
-
Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
-
Ability to build consensus and foster collaboration among diverse stakeholders.
-
Proficiency in project-management tools and executive reporting.
