A Snapshot of Your Day
Seasonal Generator Field Services Engineer provides field engineering oversight on all types of generator work for a minimum of 1560 hours per year. The successful candidate performs inspection, testing, communicates to customers both internal and external, and provides crew supervision. Typical work weeks while in the field range from 60-91 hours per week. This position offers 4 months of optional work time to help with the employee’s work-life balance The Seasonal Generator Field Services Engineer will be accountable to perform crew supervision, inspection, testing, and communication to customers both internal and external. This position is part of Turbine and Generator Specialty Services based in Region North America but serves customers globally. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys traveling and is looking to begin their engineering career!

These opportunities are great roles for someone who enjoys traveling, is a self starter who enjoys using all available resources and is able to build innovative solutions to challenging mechanical issues, and is looking to begin or continue their engineering career with a growing dynamic company!
How You’ll Make an Impact

Develop expertise in equipment operation,maintenance, job site safety, project management, leadership, and SiemensEnergy business systems through hands-on training with senior field serviceengineers.

Supervise technicians performing maintenanceand repair work on generator equipment during planned and unplanned power plantoutages.

Conduct visual inspections and performelectrical and mechanical testing to assess equipment condition andperformance.

Collaborate with engineering teams worldwide toexecute specialized mechanical and electrical testing and diagnostics.

Analyze findings and work with engineering toprovide customers with recommendations for necessary repairs and maintenance.

Serve as the primary customer contact duringoutages, ensuring repairs are completed accurately, safely, and on schedule
What You Bring
-
Musthave either a High School diploma/GED; pursuing or have a Bachelor’sdegree in engineering, engineering technology, or related field is aplus.

Minimumof 6 mos experience in field service is preferred; Candidates with moreexperience may be eligible for a more senior level position.

Able to meet the physical demands of the role,including climbing ladders, working in confined spaces and outdoorconditions, walking long distances, and lifting up to 40 pounds.

Workingknowledge of large electrical apparatus, including but not limited to,generator inspection, testing, generator rewinds and repairs; Thisposition is 100% REMOTE due to 100% travel is required.

Team-oriented professional who collaborates effectively withcustomers and colleagues to deliver exceptional service and Self-motivatedleader with the initiative to use available resources and guide others indeveloping innovative solutions.

Willing to travel typically 200-250 days per year for anywhere from2-15 weeks at a time. (While deployed, you will work extended workinghours of up to 12-14 hours per day including weekends/holidays, 6 – 7 daysper week. A typical work week can be 60-84 hours.)
Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
