Staff Accountant

Description

We are seeking a motivated Staff Accountant to support the accounting operations of a fast-paced manufacturing and consumer products organization. The ideal candidate will have experience working within NetSuite or SAP, strong month-end close experience, and exposure to inventory and cost accounting. This is a contract to hire position with on a growing tream.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations as part of the monthly close process.

• Perform detailed balance sheet and bank reconciliations.

• Assist in preparing monthly financial statements and management reporting packages.

• Support inventory accounting activities, including inventory reconciliations and cycle count reviews.

• Analyze inventory, purchasing, and manufacturing variances and investigate discrepancies.

• Monitor inventory transactions and ensure accurate recording within NetSuite or SAP.

• Assist with cost accounting activities, including product costing and cost of goods sold analysis.

• Partner with Operations and Supply Chain teams to ensure proper accounting treatment of manufacturing transactions.

• Support annual audits by preparing schedules and responding to auditor requests.

• Maintain compliance with GAAP, company policies, and internal controls.

• Assist with process improvements and ERP optimization initiatives.

Requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

• 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably within manufacturing, consumer products, food & beverage, or distribution environments.

• Hands-on experience with NetSuite or SAP.

• Experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and general ledger accounting.

• Exposure to inventory accounting, cost accounting, or manufacturing accounting.

• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables and XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP.

• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

• Experience supporting high-volume inventory environments.

• Knowledge of standard costing and variance analysis.
