Full job description
$126,880 per year | Full-time
Use your skills to lead the facility’s medical, dental, and mental health teams. You will supervise clinical and administrative staff, including the physician, midlevel provider, nursing director, dental team, mental health professionals, pharmacy technician, medical records staff, and administrative assistant. Coordinating services with the physician You will also oversee health, mental health, and dental programs to ensure they meet MTC and customer requirements.

What you will do
-
Plan, coordinate and manage the administrative and health services activities of the department.
-
Provide staff training, evaluate staff performance and implement department and personnel changes as approved by the customer and coordinated with the manager, human resources prior to implementation.

Develop departmental budget; monitor and control expenditures; review and recommend changes to budget authorizations.

Implement new and revise policies and procedures affecting health services; coordinate with other departments to ensure compliance with overall facility objectives.

Manage and conduct coordinated health care for detainees, other health related programs and serve as a member of the Mental Health Team, QI, UM, Safety, P&T communities and others as required.

Act as liaison between the facility and health consultants.

Manage the record keeping and reports on injuries, diseases, death and disabilities of detainees.

Manage in-service training in health-related areas for other departments.

Coordinate with local agencies for planning and conducting environmental health inspections.

Coordinate, review and approve payment to all outside vendors, subcontracted staff and services ensuring that expenditures are within contractual and budgetary limitations.

Coordinate with other center staff concerning health services.

Ensure that health services department is in compliance with all applicable OSHA guidelines and regulations.

Requires prolonged periods of walking and standing.
-
Regular and predictable onsite attendance is required.
-
Promote the development of positive social skills through modeling appropriate behaviors and intervening when inappropriate behaviors are observed; provide regular feedback to staff regarding social skills procedures and intervention techniques.

Maintain accountability of staff, detainees and property; adhere to safety practices.
-
On call required.

It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her scope of work as determined by management.
Education and Experience Requirements: What you will need

Bachelor’s degree
-
(Preferred) Master’s degree
-
Minimum of three (3) years of leadership experience in a health care facility,
-
(Preferred) Experience in a correctional or detention environment
-
Current CPR Certification
-
(Preferred) license as a registered nurse
-
US citizenship or lawful US permanent resident
-
Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record required
-
Must successfully complete required preservice training post-hire
