Full job description

Job Duties

Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, is experiencing unprecedented growth. As a result, we have a full-time position available for a mechanical/utilities engineer. Responsibilities include conducting job-site surveys of food and beverage plants and utility systems; developing project documentation including drawings, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID’s), equipment schedules, details, specifications, scope of work, etc.; selecting and applying system equipment to new and existing systems; and coordinating technical specifications, delivery requirements, and quotation parameters with outside equipment suppliers, subcontractors, and clients. Frequent (30-40%) travel will be required.

The successful candidate must have all of the following:

Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in mechanical engineering

At least five years of relevant mechanical engineering experience

PE license in any state with the ability to obtain in other states

The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following:

Experience with food plant projects

HVAC experience

Experience developing piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) for food and/or industrial projects

Chilled water/hydronic design experience

Familiarity with managing project invoices

Experience mentoring less experienced staff
